The LS1 engines in our f-bodys offer tons of potential, but once you are above 6250 RPM the engines have a tendency to bend pushrods. This can happen during missed shifts and/or pushing the engine to its limits. Comp Cams has assambled a complete kit to replace the stock valvetrain components for more useable HP and a higher RPM operating range.
Comp cams offers three kits to help solve this problem. The first is the “RPM” kit (for use with the stock GM cam) including pushrods, valve springs, and retainers. The second is the “RPM” kit (for use with a moderate High-Performance cam) including pushrods, valve springs, and retainers. The third kit is the “RPM Plus” kit and it has the same components as the “RPM” kit, plus lifters allowing for a complete valvetrain buildup for a new cam.
The first kit (54050) includes the following:
*7638 –>5/16″ 7.400″ Magnum Pushrods (Qty:16)
*26915 –>Performance GM LS1 Valve springs (Qty:16)
*774 –>Steel Valve Spring Retainers for use with standard locks (Qty:16)
Note: Recommended for use with a stock GM cam.
The second kit (54100) includes the following:
*7955 –>5/16″ 7.400″ Hi-Tech Pushrods (Qty:16)
*26918 –>Hi-Performance GM LS1 Valve springs (Qty:16)
*772 –>Titanium Valve Spring Retainers for use with standard locks (Qty:16)
Note: Recommended for use with a moderate high-performance cam.
The third kit (54200-shown in picture) includes the following:
*7955 –>5/16″ 7.400″ Hi-Tech Pushrods (Qty:16)
*26918 –>Hi-Performance GM LS1 Valve springs (Qty:16)
*772 –>Titanium Valve Spring Retainers for use with standard locks (Qty:16)
*875 –>Hi-Performance GM Hydraulic Roller Tappets (Qty:16)
